Haunting . . . Lyrical . . . Unforgettable . . .

In a world where everything is perfect, yet the same day after day, Eve must decide if she wants to live forever in the garden with Adam and never know what lies beyond the walls. When she makes a choice with terrible consequences, the pain of mortality is swift. As she and Adam explore their new world, and her body changes, Eve discovers the sweetness of first love with the man who has always been at her side.

My Thoughts: This was a beautiful interpretation of the story of our first parents, Adam and Eve. What is stated in the Bible is not very much. We only know the general idea of what happened at the Garden of Eden.  H.B Moore took the Biblical story in her hands and gave us a concept of what might have happened to them. I have read Moore's other works so I was looking forward to reading her interpretation.

As the title said, this was the story of Eve. It would switch between first person point-of-view as Eve told her tale, then go to third person when it would follow Adam. Eve was the mother of all living and she was the one who first bit into the forbidden fruit, so it would make sense why she was the main character of this book. It was fascinating to read Eve's point-of-view of the events that happened. Much has been blamed on her for our fall, but if it wasn't for her decision, we would not be here. It was great to read how human Eve was. Her fears, hopes, curiosities, and love were easy to relate to. I especially loved how she was able to stick to her purpose and have courage to chose what was right.

H.B. Moore created a beautiful story. I was completely captivated by it. Moore's explanations as to why Eve disobeyed and ate from the Tree of Knowledge made complete sense. I also liked how she portrayed Lucifer: he was cunning and eager to turn Eve to his side. Adam was also a wonderful character. He was strong, protective, and loyal. Like Eve, he too had struggles and doubts. Moore was able to create a story that was believable.

Overall, this was a wonderful story of our first parents. I highly enjoyed Moore's interpretation of this Biblical tale. I loved Eve and I loved how I was able to feel the struggle in surviving outside the garden. This has become a new favorite. I rate it:
